The iridescent plants blurred my vision. Paws and hooves pounded at the packed earth in a flurry of pure panic.
I couldn’t see anyone. L kept running further and further until I was Pulled down. A ghostly. Clawed hand closed around my leg. I opened my monthso wide, it looked as if I’d. unhinged my jaw. A scream that embodied every bit of fear in me tore it’s way through my throat. Blood red eyes were in front of me, glittering with insanity…
It used to be human. I thought. Just like me.
With in a blink I was on the ground and the beast was gone. Coughing for air between all of the dust, all the sudden I was on my feet again as fast as I had gone down. Running again. But this time I wasn’t alone. She was with me pulling me away from the snarls of the beast.
We ducked under a dead bush and pushed as far back into the darkness as was possible. I looked everywhere and anywhere the beast may be lurking. When I finaly made eye contact with her we both jumped as a blood curdling scream pearced through the air.
It’s close, to close.
The ghostly hand comes out of nowhere and the metallic scent of blood fills the air.
One body down. The beast screams, and I close my eyes shut.
One. Two. Three…
The next body hits the ground hard and I open my eyes back up. The boy and beast lay tangeled within each other, blood pooling around them. My mouth is gasping, my lungs are not working in the least.
In a distant world, a boy splattered in blood looks up,
He killed it!
His week voice sounds as he drops to the ground stabbing the earth with a knife.
